Bangladesh Visa Documents Required from India

Organise the core identity documents first, then add only the purpose-specific evidence relevant to your tourist, business, visit or transit application.

Build the file logically

Documents should support the same traveller and the same story.

A visa file is easier to understand when names, passport details, dates, accommodation, host information, employment details and the stated purpose of travel all agree with one another.

The New Delhi tourist checklist published in 2024 gives a useful example of the document structure: completed online application, recent white-background photographs, original passport, old passport if any, profession-related proof and NOC where applicable, host/invitation or hotel evidence, identity copies and financial evidence in the relevant scenario.

Tourist document logic

For tourism, the accommodation or host evidence should make sense for the proposed dates. Where the checklist uses a hotel-booking route, the financial evidence requested with that route should also be prepared. Where a genuine Bangladesh host is involved, the relevant invitation and identity evidence should correspond to that host.

Business document logic

For business travel, the Bangladesh-side invitation and Indian company letter should describe a consistent commercial purpose. The traveller’s role, organisation, meeting purpose and dates should align with the MRV application.

Do not over-document blindly: More pages do not automatically create a stronger application. Relevant, current and internally consistent documents are more useful than unrelated paperwork.

The New Delhi tourist checklist published in 2024 includes the original passport and also asks for copies. Confirm the current mission procedure for how and when the passport is lodged.
The 2024 New Delhi tourist checklist states that an old passport is required if any. Check whether this remains part of the current checklist when you apply.
Business applicants should normally be able to show a genuine Bangladesh-side invitation or sponsor context and a letter from the Indian company sending the traveller, together with the other current category-specific requirements.
A cover letter should accurately describe the applicant, travel purpose, dates and supporting evidence. A generic letter that does not match the actual category can create inconsistencies.
